Hello Karthi,

I think you need not change your planning Horizon period. As Rajesha said, it is only for select the requirement during MRP.

Based the planned delivery time system will schedule and will create procurement proposal for raw material.

Dear,

Please understand that planning horizon is to consider the requirements.

example - for a RM there is a requirement as below

30.12.2008 - 10 qty

30.11.2008 - 10 qty

30.10.2008 - 10 qty

30.09.2008 - 10 qty

If your planning horizon is 100, then system will consider the requirements which fall below the date today + 100 days = 22.12.2008. i.e. after running MRP

30.12.2008 - 10 qty

No recipet for above requirement as it is bwyond 100 days.

30.11.2008 - 10 qty

Planed order for 1o qty

30.10.2008 - 10 qty

Planed order for 1o qty

30.09.2008 - 10 qty

Planed order for 1o qty

If your planning horizon is 180, then system will consider the requirements which fall below the date today + 180 days = 22.06.2008. i.e. after running MRP

30.12.2008 - 10 qty

Planed order for 1o qty

30.11.2008 - 10 qty

Planed order for 1o qty

30.10.2008 - 10 qty

Planed order for 1o qty

30.09.2008 - 10 qty

Planed order for 1o qty

I hope you are clear about the concept.
