Hi All,
We are implementing EP 7.0 and I am in the process of creating the SAP Connector to the R/3. Our R/3 is ECC 6.0.
I have used the following details in the connector editor:
Connector
Application Host: FQN
Logical System Name: XXX
SAP Client: 100
SAP System ID (SID): XXX
Server Port: 3600
System Type: R/3
ITS:
ITS Host Name: FQN:port (found in transaction SMICM)
ITS Path: /sap/bc/gui/sap/its
ITS Protocol: http
User Management:
Logon Method: UIDPW
User Mapping Type: admin, user
When I test the ITS Connection the test fails and I get the following:
Results
1. The system ID is valid
2. The system was retrieved.
3. Retrieval of the default alias was successful
4. The system object represents an SAP system
5. The following parameters are valid: ITS Protocol (http) ITS Host Name (FQN:8000)
6. The host name FQN was resolved successfully.
7. The server FQN was pinged successfully.
8. User mapping is not valid
9. An HTTP/S connection to http://FQN:port/sap/bc/gui/sap/its was not obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.
Also I get the follwing while testing the connector
Test Connection with Connector
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
Could you please advice on this?
It should be stressed that the test of the SAP Web AS Connection is successful.
Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
Mike

Hello Michael Aristotelidis. Try to change the
Server Port: 3600 to 32"sys_number" (by default 3200).
About ITS try to check in SUPPORT, as solution above.
(or try to check the other ports, for example 8001, or leave ITS path empty. )

Hi Mike,
Well, I have experienced this issue a couple of times, but there is nothing to worry as such.
As long as your WAS is successful.Go ahead and create a system alias for the system that you are creating.
If your SSO settings are in place.
Then, go to system administration->support->sap application-> under test and configuration tools choose sap transaction
under the mandatory fields choose the system that you have created, choose a tcode (se16) and choose sap gui for windows and click go.
If you are able to logon to your ecc system, your sso works!
P.S Make sure the user name with which you are testing this, exists in the backend as well.
Good luck
Cheers,
Sandeep Tudumu

Hi Sandeep,
I have performed the settings for SSO again just to ensure that all the required steps were followed. I am still getting the same error when testing the Connector (i.e. SSO settings not correct). Though I have tried what you have suggested and I can connect to ECC and see the transaction via the Portal. It is quite strange that the test fails though. Anyway I can move forward.
Do you know why this is happening?
Thank you once more.
Kind Regards
Mike
