SERVER UPGRADE

Hi,

We are planning to change our production server due to less hardware resourses. Our new server is of the same type with higher number of processors and higher HDD capacity. The OS , Database and SAP R3 version remains to be same. Pls let me know how best and fast we can implement the new server.

Thanks for ur reply. So far we have not done a fresh installation of ECC6.0. We have upgraded from SAP4.6B to ECC6.

Can u pls specify which all DVDs we have to use. It is bit confusing with lot of CDs with me.

Hi,

If you are not changing the OS nor the DB then you need to perform an Homogeneous system copy.

If you change any of them, then you must perform an heterogeneous system copy.

Then you have to drill don the menus depending on your SAP version
