Anyone can give me the steps to to the update with JSPM. Should I put the new kernel files and uncar them in EPS/in directory before starting JSPM?

Bill-

You are right just put those 4 .sar files in the EPS/IN dir and start the JSPM it will show you the current and the new kernel level found

and also the same way for the IGS.

Thanks,

Thanks for all the answers, I have one more question - How do I check if IGS is updated. When started JSPM, it found only kernel update patch but nothing was for IGS. Does this means its not updated?

Hi Bill,

Check the SAP note 931900-Finding the IGS patch level, Also check for SAP Note 988677 - New transaction SIGS.

(Solution from SAP Note 939100)

There are two ways in which you can call the IGS monitoring page:

Using the RFC listener: Start the relevant system and open transaction SA38 (or SE38). Start the GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN report and select the corresponding RFC destination. See also Note 995471.

Using the HTTP listener: Call the http://<IGS Host>:<IGS Port> page in the browser, for example: http://localhost:40080. See also Notes 965201 and 959358.

The version number is displayed on the initial page. The penultimate character is the patch level of the IGS. Click the status to go to the status page and check whether the patch level of REGISTERED_PORTWATCHER and REGISTERED_INTERPRETER matches the patch level on the initial page.

With older versions, the version information is not contained on the initial page. Only carry out the check on the status page here.

Just to confirm that I dont need to uncar those files, right!

and also I have 10 igs.exe files like igsexe_12..sar. Is it supposed to be only 1 file?
