item category determination

when processing delivery using VL0NO system is showing error message of 'no item category exists. for one material.

plz suggest

Please check in T.Code zero184 whether you have maintained the item category to your delivery type.

Hi there,

Like how you maintain sales item catg determiantion, you also need to maintain the delivery item categories & determiantion in SPRO --> Logistics Execution --> Deliveries --> Delivery item categories & Carry out item category determiantion in deliveries.

Unless you do that, system will not create delivery as there will beno item categories proposed.

Also dont forget to maintain copy control routine from OR to LF both at header & item level in VTLA.

can anyone help me understand in item category determination; where does the Uage come from?

Item category is determined on below criteria:

Delivery Type = comes from delivery

Item category group = from material master

Usage = where does it come from ?

Hello,

For outbound delivery without reference to a sales order, the item category in the delivery should be DLN.

A standard item in a standard order then becomes a standard item in the delivery. If a delivery is entered without reference to an order, the system proposes the item category depending on the delivery type and the item category group of the material.

Check the item category group of the material and item categroy determination for deliveries. If the item categroy determination is not maintined for the itemcategroy group of the material master, then maintain the same.

SPRO--> Logistics Execution --> Shipping --> Deliveries --> Delivery item categroy determination.

Check the the delivery type LO.

Go to trasaction 0VLK (Zero VLK), check for the entres

LO <-> <-> <-> DLN <-> <--->

(DLN should be under the second ItmC column)

Check wether DLN is appearing in the delivery. (VL01N --> Item overview tab --> ItCa)

Check the item category group in material master & also check item category determination in customizing whether the your item category group is properly maintain or not. Please come back if not resolved.
