Developing an application to read the image/photo of the user

Hi experts,

Here i have to develop an application which can read the image based on the pernr of the user that too the data source can be either KM repository or ECC.

Suggest me which is the best option for the image source(KM/ECC). if it is ECC in which table we have to store the image and in which format, and how to read the image from the source by using webdynpro for JAVA (provide me the BAPI/RFC name) .

If that is a KM source how to read and what are the libraries we have to add. how to use KM API to read the image. I'm new to KM programming.

Or else is there any predefined application which can give the same service to the SAP users.

Suggest me how to proceed further.
