Configuring SAP KM for resilient CMS - how do we do it?

We're using BOE XI R3 FP1.

In the Enterprise Portal we have to "enter the BusinessObjects Enterprise server as fully

qualified host name (including the port)" (SAP Solutions User Guide, p155).

In our production environment, we have multiple servers hosting CMSs for resilience and performance. How do we enter multiple ones?

We've tried semi-colon delimited lists, but the system complains of a badly-formed port number (presumably, it's expecting everything after the first colon to make an integer).

Any ideas? This seems to me to be crucial for scalable, industrial systems.

Hello Phil,

There is no need for you to enter multiple CMS names when configuring your KM repository. BusinessObjects Enterprise is able to failover seemlessly when mulitple CMSs are available in your environment. This is managed at the enterprise framework layer of BOE.

Hi Phil,

is this the part for settting up the BOE Server environment in the SAP portal landscape ?

the server that is required here is the actual java app server that is hosting the application (by default tomact)
