In Classic scenario do we do GR from srm front end or from the backend

how to find out the idoc number from a SC or PO?

The below are the steps to find Confirmation IDoc with PO number .

Goto in transaction WE09 in backens system and fill the following selection criteria:

Date: Please set the date as confirmation creation date
Logical Message: MBGMCR
Search in Segment: E1BP2017_GM_ITEM_CREATE
Search in Field: PO_NUMBER
for Value: <Your PO Number>

Then execute the report. You will get the IDoc number.

When we are doing confirmaion it is saying "error in process" as i think it's problem with idoc.. but how to overcome this

Do we need to delete the idoc if yes then where can we do that

Do we need to delete the idoc 

-> No. Please do not delete IDocs. Besides IDocs cannot be deleted, but can be archieved.

You can view the IDocs in WE02 in ECC, please analyse the reason for the error and try to fix that.

You can use SRM as well as ERP/Backend system for posting GR in classic scenario.
