Usage Probability in MRP

Dear all,

I have a scenario described below.

Product M has demand 1000 qty.

After the mrp run, system will generate the requirement as below.

(Component) (On hand) (Usage Prob.) (Demand) (Requirement)

A 900 pcs 50% 500 0

B 100 pcs 30% 300 200

C 0 pcs 20% 200 200

My question is how to force system consume comp. A for all its stock - 900 pcs without manually revise the plnd. order.

and then consume comp. B with 100 pcs.

Hi,

Assign the same Altitemgrp to A,B and C in the item level data.

Maintain Priority 1,2 & 3 for A, B & C respectively.

Maintain Strategy 2 for all the 3 items.

When you maintain strategy 2, for withdrawals (consumption) the system checks for available qty as per the priority (not according to usage prob).

So whichever item, hihest in the priority satisfies 100% requirement, is chosen.

If no item satisfies 100% reqmt, it first consumes the available qty of the highest priority.

So along with Priority 1 for A, Strategy 2 is also a MUST.

Hi,

1) Based upon the usage probability defined for the alternate parts, system generates PRs for these parts.However, you will have to ensure that you procure as well as consume these alternate parts as per the probability defined, else, MRP run will give erratic results.

(2) Based upon the usage priority, system consumes the alternate parts during production confirmation. Part with usage priority 1 will get consumed first by the system & only if the part with usage priority 1 is not available in stock, then, system will consume the stock of part with usage priority 2.

Use CS01, add the components which you want in a BOM header.

Out of these - For eg. If item "A" & item "B" are to be defined as alternate components, select the line item "A" & click on "Item" button.

You will get directed to basic data tab wherein you will have to add "Alternate item group" & hit the enter key.

This will open another window for maintaining "Alternate item data" wherein you can maintain data such as Usage priority as well as usage probability.
