I am trying to do RFC destination (SM59)in XI central instance Client 000. I am able to complete the Technical Settings, but when I go to Security/Logon Tab, and select Basic Authentication, I am not able to enter the userID, Password, and the client information because it is grayed out.

Here are the steps I followed.

Technical Settings ( Tab)

1- Entered RFC Destination = Integration_Directory_HMI

2- Entered Target Host = hmi1forsapxi

3- Path Prefix = /dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext

4- Then switched to Logon/Security Tab

5- Entered Client, User, and Password information.

SS is checked as Inactive

6- When I select Basic Authentication, I get SSL Client PSE Default Does not Exists

and user , password, and client information grayed out.

I can't make this connection working. I can take any help

Thanks

Shaji

Any help would be a greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Shaji

I changed the directory path to /dir/CacheRefresh as per NOTE 750511, but getting SSL Client PSE DEFAULT does not exist.

i checked in our system. the PSE thing i only get, if i set SSL to active and even then it"s just a warning, so it can be ignored through pressing enter.

Make sure to check all steps in that note, as this is an update to the configuration guide! Some things might have changed and not been adjusted in that guide, just in the note...

Christine,

Problem solved. We had wrong port # 5000 instead of 50000, and of course wrong directory path ( NOTE 750511)

Thanks for the help

first of all i think, you should not be working on client 000. I'm not a basis person but to my knowledge you create a client copy from 000 to 010 or 100 or whatever you like and configure the Integration server there...

second thing, if you are on SP09 or higher, the path in SM59 needs to be /dir/CacheRefresh and not dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext (see note 750511 SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0: Patch procedure >= SP04 for

details)

for your real problem i don't have a clue, but are you doing the steps in the right order? First select baisc auth, then SSL inactive and then you should be able to put in user and password.

Christine,

Thanks for your quick reply. I used client 100 as well, but same result. Following is the doc I followed for configuration. See page 40 of SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 Installation-Post-Installation Activities guide.

Creating RFC Destinations in the ABAP Environment

You need to create the following RFC destinations in transaction SM59 (ABAP)

INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI

1. Log on to your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host.

2. Call transaction SM59.

3. Choose Create.

4. Enter at least the following:

RFC destination: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI

Connection type: H

Description: <your description>

5. Choose ENTER

6. Choose the following tabs and enter the required data:

Tab: Technical Settings

• Target Host: host name of the SAP J2EE engine

• Service No.: HTTP port number (The following naming convention applies:

5<J2EE_instance_number>00. 50000, if your J2EE instance is 00)

• Path Prefix: /dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext

Tab: Security/Logon

• Select Basic Authentication

Confirm the Warning.

• As logon data enter the client of your SAP XI system and the user XIISUSER with

the valid password

Save your entry now, before you switch to next tab, otherwise your

entries may be lost.

Tab: Special Options

• Timeout: 900

• HTTP Settings:

Compression: inactive

Compressed Response: No

• HTTP Cookies: Accept Cookies: Yes (All)

7. Choose Test Connection. No error should occur.

8. Save your settings.

I followed the above instructions, and thats when I came to this issue. I am going to try the path as you mentioned ( NOTE 750511)

Thanks a lot
