Hi All,
One of my customer wans to include the freight cost in the item cost. But he wants to put the freight amount in header lavel. So that it will hit the freight A/C.
Thanks & Regards.
Santosh
Hi Santosh
If you want the item cost to be updated at header level, the distribution to row must be defined first under Administration > Setup > General > Freight > Distribution Method.

Dear Santosh,
In order to be sure that the freight will affect the item cost of an item, go to Administration - Setup - General - Freight and click the option Stock.
As explained in the Online help:
Stock Adds the freight amount entered, either in the row level or the total level, to the item's cost calculated when working with perpetual inventory.

Hi Santosh,
When you do the setup for freight, you have an option to select whether that freight should affect the item cost.
Administration>Setup>General>Freight
Here, for each type of freight, put a check against "Stock".
Else, if your customer pays the freight rather than it being charged to him by the Vendor, then you will have to use the Landed Cost functionality.
Hope this helps.

Using the Freight fields at the row level will only update the Item's Cost.

You probably need landed cost solution for this customer.
Thanks,
