Hi gurus,
Storage location determination can be done in two ways
1. Ship.point / plant / storage conditions (MALA Rule)
2. Ship.point / Situation / Storage condition (RETA Rule)
Just i want to know where we will maintain the SITUATION field information
either is it a master data or a transaction data.
regards,
ram

Hi there,
You dont store it anywhere anywhere in the material master. When you mean situation, it means that any customized loguc under which you porpose a storage loc.
For eg: Custom made items or goods can be storaged at a particular loc. Likewise if the customer wants to store the goods at the plant itself & then take it whenever he needs you can define a situation for that & store the items at a [articular loc.
Make sure that when you define a situation in SPRO --> Logictics Execution --> Picking --> Define situations, you also need to do the determiantion based on situation but on as per MALA. You maintain the determiantion in SPRO --> LE --> Picking --> Determine picking loc --> Storage loc determination with situation.

Hai
This Situation + storage Condition = Storage Location determination is used in Retail Business.
Not for normal SD.
If u want clear details Goto
SPRO (IMG) - Logistics Execution - Shipping - Picking - Determine Picking Location - Storage Location Determination with Situation.
In that side standard Notes (IMG Activity Documentation), there u will get clear details.
