Adding component to CRM Web UI Homepage

I have been trying to add z_widget component as a test to figuire out

how to add components to Service Home Page(WCC_SRV_HOME).

I found a similar discusion topic discussed in the thread

'i want to insert webcast on my home page-New UI' , but no detailed answer

was posted in there.

I created logical link ID with target ID ZWIDGET1, which connects to

the z_widget component, but it did not work. I have not been able to

make the component visible on the home page.

Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Shinichiro,

The steps above are correct. If you want to directly open the application in the work center home page (not as a report link), you also need to add the new component (Z_Widget?) to the corresponding work center BSP application (e.g. WCC_SRV_HOME). (You can probably copy the standard to a new one.) The standard BSP does not have the Z_Widget component assigned to it.

Once you add it there, you can customize the work center page (WCC_SRV_HOME) from CRM Web UI to make the new component available.

Hi Simon,

Below are the configration steps I tried.

(Note: Everything is done in IMG)

1. Component Inbound Plug Maintenance

IMG Path: UI Framework Definition > Technical Role Definition >

Define Work Area Component Repository.

I created a new Component Inbound Plug for the BSP component

Z_WIDGET(

Window name: Z_WIDGET/MainWindow,

Target ID: ZWIDGET1,

Inbound Plug: default.

2. Define Navigation Profile.

IMG Path: Interaction Center WebClient>Basic Functions

2-1 First I created a new logical link ID

Type: Link

Target ID ZWIDGET1

2-2 Define Work Center Link Group

The new logical link ID is assigned to a new Link Group.

2-3 Assign work groups to the work center SRV-HOME

The new link group created in the step 2-3 is assigned to

the work center SRV-HOME.

2-4 Assign work center to navigation profile ZSRV_ADMIN.

This is a default setting for the work center SRV-HOME.

3. Define Business Roles

IMG Path: Business Roles

3-1 The NAV Profile ZSRV_ADMIN is assinged to the business

role which is assigned to my user business role in the IMG define

organizational assignment.

This is all what I did. If you can tell me how it shold be done, that will be great.
