Hi,

Will you please let me know the following precise logic and best practice in SAP ?

How lead time is calculated for STO parts ?

Supply plant : inhouse production time /routing time

Receiving plant : Planned delivery time maintained in material master

An early reply will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Mit

Hi,

According to the scheduling:-

1. There are two types of scheduling.

a)Basic dates scheduling :

This is independent of required qty. This will take time from material master mrp2 view.

b) Lead time scheduling:

This is dependent of requirement qty. This will take time from routing. This is very accurate.

2.To calculate total days

For inhouse production, system will consider Inhouse production time( mrp 2 view),GR processing time, Opening period.

For External procurement system will consider Processing time for purchasing (OPPQ), Planned delivery time(MRP2),GR processing time(mrp2).

3.Here how the MRP calculate the days as from starting day if am doing mrp run today.

Hope clear to you.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

My company insists .....

Receiving plant Material Master : planned delivery time should be 0

Supplying plant Material Master : Inhouse production time = Actual lead time.

This is creating problem while MRP for supplying plant as parts will be shown availabe almost immediately, whereas Supplying plant is going to take some time as per the inhouse production time maintained in there material master.

Now, if Receiving plant maintains planned delivery time = supplying plant's in house production time, MRP of supplying plant is misleading by adding both time.

Will you please advise , which is the best practice ?

Thanks in Advance,
