Receiving SAPevent in Webdynpro Application

Hello,

Our company is using a custom java build application where we utilize a call of SAPEVENT. Please see the link below for its description:

We call this Java application via SAP GUI HTML viewer, and then capture the event and the value it it passes.

Is there any way to capture this event in Webdynpro application? I am currently calling URL link vis popups, but have not found how to capture it. There are probably are other way to call url, but I am not sure what they are and can they capture SAPEVENT.
