Hi Experts,

I am working in 0FI_GL_4 line item data source. The financial line items are extracted from SAP R3 in their most recent status(After-image delta method).

Actually Delta procedure is not suitable for filling Infocubes in BI directly.

Initial my data flow is like R3---->DSO---->CUBE, Now my onsite members deleted DSO and directly loading data into CUBE.

Could you please explain any performance will be increse to load data directly into CUBE and please give me the differences between these two R3-->DSO->CUBE and

R3--->CUBE

ok.. are you sitting comfortably?

You can change a finance transaction - not the important fields like amount, gl code, cost centre etc (otherwise the auditors may want a word) - but you change stuff like cleared date (ie unallocate GRNI transactions or unclear payments in AP when somebody bounces a cheque on you) or you can change the text or the reference numbers etc

FI only ever delivers after images

so...

I create a journal on day 1 for £100 with a reference number of "Simon"

this goes into the info cube

On day 2 I change the journal - and put "Dave" in the reference number instead

The after image of the GL4 extractor will give me "Dave" £100

I put this in the cube - I now have for this one document or summarisation £200!

So we use a DSO to generate and before and after image via the change log

So I fed £100 "Simon" into the DSO and then into the cube on day1

On day 2 - I feed £100 "Dave" into the DSO

Now the DSO key is Company Code, Doc Number, Line Number and Fiscal year (standard R3 key to identify a GL journal line)

The change log of the DSO now into the cube gives me:

£100- "Simon" record mode X

£100+ "Dave" record mode change (blank)

SO the cube now looks like

£100- "Simon"

£100+ "Simon"

£100+ "Dave"

Then we compress the cube ione day and get

£100+ "Dave"

IN sumamrisation - FI extractors only give you after images -

Because in FI you can change documents need need a DSO to resolve this and generate before and after images for the cube from the DSO change log
