File to Idoc Scenario. Pls advice

Hi All,

I have implemented File to Idoc Scenario and it worked fine.

I have 2 doubts:

My Scenario: File -- XI -- R/3 system named D01

1. In Configuration: In Receiver Aggrement why we put

XI Business System name in Sender Service?

2. In Configuration when I open my R/3 Business system

(D01CLNT100) and click on Adapter Specfic Identifiers I can

see my Logical System Name as D01CLNT100.

When I use SALE tx. in D01 R/3 system I can see

D01CLNT100 as logical system

Question: If I use SALE transaction and change my

logical system name to "test" , do I need to change the

name "test" in SLD and then for R/3 Business system

(D01CLNT100) in Adapter Specfic Identifiers I will see new

Logical System Name as test.

HI,

If you change your logical system name as test, we need to change logical system name in business system also, it will throw error. After that delete old one and need to import again new business system to ID window. Why because based on business & technical system idoc will be routed to destination else it will throw receiver determination error.

File adapter will work on any business service or business system also why because it never check business & technical system but idoc adapter will check

Yes , you need to Update the name in SLD and just Do SLD Data Cache in ID-- Environment to reflect the same name in Identifiers place.

You might have used XI as Sender and you might have placed the file in XI Server to pickup.

Thats why you are using Xi's Business System name as Sender Serveice.

As 1st response : Am I right --

When I update in my R/3 (D01) Logical System Name from "D01CLNT100" to "test", I will update in SLD in Techinical System (D01) Client Tab from D01CLNT100" to "test"

and then when I will do SLD cache refresh it will be updated in

my Configuration.

As 2nd Response :

You suggested that since XI is sender so I am using Xi's Business System name as Sender Serveice.

But suppose I have case of File to File. In that scenario I do not use Xi's Business System name as Sender Serveice.

Pls advice.

In file 2 file scenario..we need to create sender CC and receiver CC both..sender and receiver agreement both..

Yes, this is correct process to change & update the LS name.

Comming to 2nd -

Eventhough you have used File--File Scenario,

you can use XI's Business system to read the file which is located in XI's OS Level or Application level(AL11 Directory) only.

If the file is not present in the above mentioned places means this is not possible to use the XI's BS name.then now you have to use Business service or Third-party business system

The Exactly same document is not there(Using the XI's Business system)

You can reffere this and use Xi's BS in place of Business system

1. Since XI is getting info in form of file n sending to R/3. So,XI is sender in 2nd part and R/3 is receiver.

2. if u change log system name to "test" u will get test as u wrote.
