For a developer in SAP XI the roles are
1) In Integration repository
1) Create Datatypes,Message types and message intefaces
2) Do the message mapping based on trading partner Guidelines and specs
3) Enhace dataypes,Import externals Message structures using External definitions
4) Export the objects created in Integration repository
In Integration Builder:
1)Import business systems
2) create communications channels
3) Create party (if B2B communication)
4) Do Receiver identification,Interface determination
5) Sender aggreemnet and reciver aggrement
Monitoring and trouble shhoting using:
1) Runtime workbench
2) Transaction code :SXMB_moni
