I need to define a new method of depreciation (unit-of-production depreciation)
I use depreciationkey Z1R1
Containing
Depreciation type : ordinary depr
Phase: from start of depreciation
Base method: ZA01 (a)
Decl.-bal.method: 001 (b)
Prd contr mehtod : ZA01 (c)
Multilevel method : 001 (d)
(a) ordinary depr; perc of remaining life calc.from depr conversiondate
treatment: all NO
(b) standard SAP
(c) depreciation starts beginning of month: acq: 01, Add: 01, Ret: 01, Tm:01
(d) 001; validity start 2 ( from ordinary depreciation start date)
Class: straight line depreciation
Change method : xxxx
Change over % rate : xxx
Multiple shift: no effect on depreciation and usefull life
scrap value: consideration is controlled by cutoff value key
shutdown : no
When I start t/c AO25 and fill in year 2008 per 1; tot units 24; rem units 23 per. Unit 1
An errormessage appears: corresponding entry in u201Cdepreciation keyu201D is missing
What did I do wrong or what needs to be done and where ?
Kind regards
Hans Houtakkers
Hi Hans,
I am pretty convinced that your base method is defined incorrect. I think you used percentage from useful life in there. But if you want to depreciate according to unit-of-production method, you have to setup "No of units/total no of units" or "No of units/remaining units".
Otherwise a depreciation key which has this base method assigned will not be considered as a unit-of-production key, and the error message would in fact raise correctly that units can not be maintained for such a depreciation key.

Markus
