MTO order problem

Hi Gurus

when i create a Production Order for a material (MTO scenario strategy 25), the system gives the error "You cannot make an assignment to make-to-order stock". If i click ok it is terminating the transaction

i maintained order type dependent parameters, scheduling parameters, Confirmation parameters, checking control for that order type.

I am not able to change the distribution rule in the OPL8 controlling tab.

Is it the reason, system is terminating the creation of production order for the MTO item?

Please give me solution.

Hi,

If the Sales Order is create with Requirements Type KEK, then only you can create a Prod. Order with CO08.

Use the OSS note no. :432109 and 311651, 317715

Hi all,

Thank you for your replies.

I checked the following as you suggested.

1. Tried creating production order by CO08

2. Maintained strategy 25 in MRP3 view

3. Maintained the correct order type in the Prod.scheduling profile

4.Sales order have been created with Req. type KEK.

But still the same error is coming and terminating the transaction.

Please suggest me some solution for this.

Hi

Pls check OKKP. Select your the controlling area, then select activate component controlling indicator ,then you will find sales order check box. Tick that indicator and try.

Requirement type is KEK only.

Hi,

Plz check strategy 25 & check its Acct Assgt Cat.in requirement type of Customer requirement.

Put it M (Ind. cust. w/o KD-CO) .

Reqmt type of customer reqmt kek.

Requirements class 046 MMTO config. value.

Plz come back after check.

I m using Strategy 25 & having no error.

I have checked it. Problem was lying with requirement class 046 in that account assignment category should be E and not M.

Hi,

You need to perform two steps

1) Material Master > MRP3 View > Select Strategy Group 25

To resolve current Sales Order problem,

1) Open S.Order VA03 > Go to 'Procurement' tab > for each line item select 'ReqTy' = 'KE'

KE will only display if proper strategy group is maintained in material master.

Strategy 25 is used in variant configuration. So the requirement type should be KEK and not KE.

For 20 - Req.Type: KE

For 25 - Req. Type: KEK

Hi,

Following are the probable reasons.

- MTO strategy (20/ 25) not maintain in Material Master MRP - 3 view.

- Order type for MTO is not maintain in Production scheduling Profile

For this go to T.Code OPKP / CORY and select production scheduling profile which you have assign in Work scheduling view of that material. Assign Order type for MTO to it.

I think u r using CO01. Use CO08 since the strategy is 25. U only can create a production order wrt a sales order.So try with CO08.
