secondary indexes in DB level

Hi all,

we have a program that was written in 2003,

when we went to Oracle 9

custom indexing/hinting we did years ago was to override the Oracle optimizer. Now, Oracle seems to have a grasp on it and the hinted indexes may not be optimal any more.

SELECT

/*+

INDEX ("T_00" "VBUKZT3") index ("T_01" "LIPS0

") INDEX ("T_02" "VBAK0") index ("T_03" "VBPA0") IND

EX ("T_04" "KNA1______0") index ("T_05" "VBKD~0") INDEX ("T

_06" "LIKP~0")

*/

now we are plannig to remove index stmt from select statement. if we remove this index stmt . is there any impact on the program.(perfomance issues)

regards,

dsk
