Sorry if this has been covered already, but my searches didn't help me find an answer.
I have a client who uses a VB6 application with the Crystal XI Release 1 ActiveX Viewer. I need to have XI Release 2 installed on my machine because I also have VS2005. My question is: if I edit Crystal Reports using Release 2, will the VB6 app that uses Release 1 still be able to open and view them?
Thanks,
T
Your application should be able to view the files. What could happen is that you get a dialog box warning you that you are viewing a report created in a newer version of Crystal Reports...

Thank you!

Follow-up:
It turns out that I'm allowed to have both Release 1 and Release 2 installed side-by-side on the same machine. Therefore I don't have to worry about editing in Release 2 for a VB app that uses Release 1 because I can still edit reports in Release 1!
Of course, I haven't tested it yet, but I'm hoping the theory will prove true in practice.
