Crystal Reports -> Web Intelligence

Our customer has some reports defined in Crystal Reports XI.

Is it possible to change / port / convert a RPT (Crystal Reports) file to a REP (Web Intelligence Reporter) file?

They are currently on Web Intelligence 6.5 but moving to XI R2.

Thanks very much in advance.

Hi Paul,

You can only convert from Desktop Intelligence to Web Intelligence documents, one way, there is no reverse option.

As for Crystal Reports, there is no convesion available.

If you want everything in Deski or Webi, you would need to ensure you have a universe available to do this or use the SQL in Free-hand SQL for the reports. I would suggest a universe as it is easier to maintain. As for the reports, you would need to develop them again in these tools.

Hope this helps

Jacques

Hi Paul,

There is a tool developed by CREAVEINFOTECH which can convert crystal reports to webi reports.

Visit the Crave InfoTech website to know more.

Hi Paul,

Report Conversion tool is used to convert Deski to webi. However the option to convert Crystal to Webi is not available.

In case if more details are required regarding the Report conversion Tool, please download the RCT guide from the below link:

Rajasekar,

Thanks for your response. What (if any) are the options to do this? Is it just a case of start from scratch?

How about from Crystal to Desktop?

I presume any SQL statements can be reused.

Thanks
