what is the difference between Posting Date and Entered date in EKBE table

Hi,

Can anyone explain me the difference between Posting Date ( EKBE-BUDAT ) and Entry Date ( EKBE-CPUDT ).

from SAP i couldnt figure out .

Hi,

Posting date means, your books of accounts will update on that particular date.

Entry date means, on which date you are entering in the system.

For example, if you would like to post a document for 31-08-2008 on today.

In this case posting date: 31-08-2008

entry date :08-09-2008.

Hi

Posting Date = The date on which the document is posted

Entry Date = The date on which the document was prepared/entered

Hi

It is entry date which is latest one. Because posting date may be before or after entry date.

Thank you all for posting your suggestions, it really helped ,

but can anyone explain me what exactly is posting date when compared with entry date . any business example will be very helpful for me to understand .

as i am confused with the Posting date can be after or before entry date . i might missing something in understanding the business scenario.
