Change Systemparameter

Hi,

I have to change systemparameter "login/min_password_lng" in prod. system without reboot of the system.

Any idea.

Simply not possible without restarting the system as parameter is not dynamically switchable.

Dear Michael,

Please do check in Tx RZ11 if the parameter login/min_password_lng is dynamically switchable. In that case you can change the value even when the system is up and running.

Is there a possiblity to change user (RFC-user) password to 7 signs, if the password-length parameter said it must be 8 signs?

Dear Michael,

No it is not possible via tcode RZ11.

Use tcode RZ10>select instant profile>select radio button extended maintenance>click on change and display>then create(f5).Then give parameter name and value and save.

A pop up window will appear(the profile is changed save changes)>click yes>then back>again save>again a pop up will appear9do you want to activate the profile-->click yes.

Then restart the server for causing these changes to take effect.

PS: Please don't forget to take the backup of the instance profile from user/sap/sid/sys.Also remember the version number of your instance profile(see from RZ10)
