Hi Experts,

I have the requirement where I have to save the user entered data in the Webdynpro form to his local desktop or C drive as a word draft.

And whener user wants to upload that data to WD form, Data sholud come to appropriate fileds of webDynpro form.

So, it included downloading and uploading of the form data.

I have seen some threads on SDN but not very clear to me.

Can any one explain in detail, how save file to Local machine and upload the same Data to Webdnpro form?

Regards,

Bala

Hi,

Why not try with ADOBE Interactive Forms Instead of Word File

To do with word following steps need to be done

Create a word based on the values exist in the context (use apache poi for this purpose).

Make use of the File download Ui element to download the content.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I cannot do this with Adobe forms, because it already developed in webdynpro.

I will try to do it with excel.

Can you please tell me how to download the form to Excel file

of Local user machine?

Hi ,

Will file download UI element works to download the content of the webdynpro form to local machine as excel sheet?

There is no action button on this UI element?

I found that, file to be downloaded needs to be present in Mimes, Is it true?

If that is the case, what is the solution to my problem?

Can any one suggest on this?

But my complete form is designed in WebDynpro.

if i want to save the form as draft, what are the other options I have.

I thought of writing RFC's and store it temporarily in the R/3 tables, but nothing is unique in my form, that is the problem.

Any other suggestions?

Hi,

I think the mentioned scenario we can develop some thing like this:

First user fill the form and if the user feel every thing is correct then provide a button "SAVE AS", when the user hit save as button the filled information will be stored in the backend. When the user comeback he will see the information which he submitted last time. If the user doesn't want to save any information and he wants to clear the data from the form you can provide anotehr button called REFRESH to clear the content from the form.

If he wants to modify any existing information he can retrive that perticular record based on some search criteria and modify and hit SAVE AS again to save the latest changes.

To achieve this what all you need is a FM to save the information in the Backend.

Thanks
