PO without material

Is it possible to create PO without material master and Account Assignment category as well.

Hi

As per standard SAP If you dont have a material master, ie if the material is a non-stock item, it is mandatory to have Account assignment category, to have the relevant offset posting to GR/IR clearing account.

If you dont have material master you also have to mandatorily fill in UOM and Material group in purchasing documents

so conclusion is, to create a po without material master u have to maintain the val class to a mat grp and use this material grp with the item text to create po

either give material number or account assignment category

Hi,

You can create a PO without material and free text and account assignment for which you have to key in the respective material group which ia mandatory.

Then for the material group you assing the valuation class and then for the valuation class you will assign the relavent GL accounts in OBYC.

yes u can do this. by entering material group.but acccount assignment is must

hi,

You can't create the PO with jus defining the Mtrl grp...it is compulsory to define the acc assignment which will ask to enter the req. data like Val class which will be credited / debited at the time of postings..

Hi,

You can create without matl master but ccount assignment category has to be defiend(based on that,u will have to give further inputs in PO,like for Asset,u should give the GL account and asset number)
