What r the EP Implimentation tasks to make the initial EP setup?

Hi all,

Can any one tell me the list out the tasks of EP6/7 Portal Implementation.

what and all will come under implimentation to make the initial setup.

I dont want to impliment any business packages.I only need Content Administration, System Administration and User Administration tasks.

I just want to able to create some iViews like Transaction iViews,KM navigation iViews, URL iViews, BW Reports and Quick Poll iViews.

And also shld be able to do User Administration Tasks and System Administration Tasks.

Hi Visweswara,

Try under http://service.sap.com/asap. There is a link there to the ASAP implementation for EP. You'll need an S number to get it. You have download and save in your local PC. Then you can access the documentation by the start page inside one folder , which will be accessed on browser. It should give you an overview on the taks require to help you plan your initial setup of EP.

Also if you do a search in forum with "Portal Implementation", you will get tons of guides, tips and tricks.

For your questions:

1) "I only need Content Administration, System Administration and User Administration tasks".

Once you have setup the Portal, assign yourself the necessary roles and you will be able to perform the mentioned above tasks.

Above link tells you which role you need for which tasks.

Checkout the link below on to create iviews. There you select templates provided for transaction iviews, KM navigation etc..

If you see my reply for Q1, assign yourself the needed roles, you should be able to perform the above. If you are an admin (I would say give yourself the Super Admin role). Super Admin role will allow you to perform most of Portal needed administartion tasks.

I tried onening that link...it is prompting for login ID and Pwd...

can i have any login id and pwd.

Hi Viswes,

Apply for an OSS userID (as mentioned in my post above). Then you can login with that account to access the link.

The OSS account can also help you in the future for more needed access of information. Thus, I would advise that you request for an OSS ID.
