Hai very good morning to all,
please tell me,
what r d AIX commands use to start/stop sap in db6 on AIX. And as wel as DB also.
Regards
Jaggu
Hi Jagan,
As written in the previous post you can use the commands startsap / stopsap to start or stop a SAP system, respectively.
These two commands have integrated also the statements required to start and stop the database server, so I would recommend you to use them.
If you still want to start and stop the database server manually, you can take a look at the commands db2start and db2stop from DB6. These commands are responsible for starting / stopping the database server pointed in the current environment (Environment variable DB2INSTANCE).
Depending on your situation, if there are connections to the database, maybe you can not stop the server. For this situation, you have to disconnect the session by running the command
db2 force applications all
For more information about all these DB2 specific commands, you can get more information from the IBM documentation site:
Go there, choose the documentation appropriate to your product, for example, DB2 9.1:
and look for any of the commands in the command reference manual.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards, Edgardo
