Hi all:

The conponents I installed for PI are Content server, cache server and Maxdb, J2ee componet for PI.

after the installation, I started sap administration console. everything is ok. as Jcontrol.exe is working well. when running http://localhost:50000, it works well. but when I try to log on to the server throuhg SAP GUI, a message box say " waiting for reponse" ,it has right connection parameters , but just no reply received, could you please tell me why?

Would you please tell me in detail how to check where the error is and how to check whether ABAP

server is installed or working well?

Couldn't thank you more.

Hi,

If everything is working fine and you are not able to log on through SAP GUI,then this might be a network issue.

Co-ordinate with your network team.

Hi,

1.Just do a telnet from your system to the system where you have done the installation and vice versa.

2. Install SAP GUI on the server system and then try to login. If you login from there and not from your own system then it certainly seems to be a network issue.

Juts co-ordinate with your network team and take their help.

Hi jingying Sony,

Try to ping the server from o/s level

Start->run->cmd it will open a command prompt there execute

ping <ip address>

where ip address is the ip address of the server.

Also application server abap is runing fine.

Dear Ashok,

Just wanted to share as I faced it so many time.

Please note that pinging require a very small wavelength and it may happen that one is able to ping but still not able to logon to SAP.

So thats why I had given alternative way in my second option as at that time this came in my mind.

Also I asked to install GUI on the server system itself just to prevent any firewall instead of deactivation the firewall completely for testing purpose.

There might be some other reason also.

PS:I just wanted to share this with you.No other intentions.
