hi gurus,

what is the functionality is marking in tc ck24, and the functionality in realising. what is the effect from these two activities MARKING and REALISING.

CK24 is used to Mark and Release the Standard cost estimate for a material.

When we execute the marking transaction: Status of Standard cost estimate will change to VO (from KA or KF) and Future Price of Material master is updated with this new cost estimate price.

When we execute the Release transaction: Status of Standard cost estimate will change to FR and Current Price of Material master will be updated with this new cost estimate price.

That means the new standard cost estimate price will moves to Future Price of Material master with Marking,

the same price moves from Future Price to Current Price with the release transaction.

Now onwards system will use this new price to value material issues.

Simple,

Marking puts the price in the future price feild (Used in the future date)

Releasing uses the price so that materials are started to be valuated using this price.
