Looking for a solution for "report with subtotal"

Hi guys,

My web dynpro app is talking to a external database, i need to get data from this DB and make a report.

this report needs grouping and subtotal.

is there any component that has this kind of function?

or let me know what is your solution to this problem.

I manage to connect to the database, but i still dont know how to group the records and calculate the subtotal.

for example, it's a sales order report, i need to group up "customers" and calculate each customer's total spending.

then, in the end, do a final total for all the customers.

how to do it? i know ALV can do this, but i m using Web Dynpro Java, how do i make use of ALV??

hi,

thanks for the doc, but this doc seems very basic, it doesn't cover how to do a group total, it just tells how to do a normal total of the whole table.

Hi Erv2,

First of all, you need to create an thirdparty system in the portal in order to communicate with your External Database System. After that you need to develop the webdynpro application and then deploy into any portal.
