How to create DEFAULT.PFL at installation

Former Member

When I execute SAPINST for windows, I am asked for SAP system profile directory, where the system expects to find the default profile (DEFAULT.PFL).

I have found no example file on the DVD to copy it into the requested directory. Where can I find an example file.

All documentation regarding this file refers to do changes via transaction RZ10. This has as prerequisite a running system.

Thank you for your help.

This doesn't sound like an installation.

What path are you selecting from the first screen?

Hi Achim Maegerle,

Here i want to ask you one queastion are you doing a new installation or you are running sapinst on an existing system?

When you run sapinst to export the database then it will ask for profile dirctory usr/sap/<sid>/sys/profile.

Normally this directory with all profiles will be created at the time of installation.Three profile instance, start and refault will be created for abap and if you will install java also some profile related to java also created.

DEFAULT.PFL is the default profile that will be created at the time of installation

Regards

Ashok
