Hi All,
A question came up at client and wants to know the difference between Deleting vs. Blocking puch doc (PRs, POs, Contracts...etc) line items.
What is the
For Eg: Deleting PO Docs Line Item means you cannot use the Document Item Further and the Line item is Deleted for further Processings.
Similarly Blocking Doc Line items Means (Suppose if you want to Restrict GR for Particular PO Line item then you can Block the PO line item and later you can unblock)
Similarly Take Eg of Vendor. If a Vendor is No More Used in your company code then you can Delete the Vendor.
Suppose If you want to Block Vendor for a Particular Activity ie blocked for Purchasing / Invoicing then you can use Block Function.

Ashok

Hi Kunal
Thanks for the reply.
But as far as Logistics, what is the difference in Deleting/UnDeleting Vs. Blocking/Unblocking?
I know you can NOT do GR for block line item that is deleted or blocked....but what is the differences of having deletion flag vs blocking flag in Logistics sense?

hi
blocking
You block a purchase order item to prevent a goods receipt involving the relevant material. u have to do the gr but not at that time ,so u can block this item
cancel /delete
If you have ordered 100 units of a product in a purchase order item, but after taking delivery of 25 of these you no longer wish to have the remainder, you cancel/delete the PO item.
