How do I place a picture as my background?

I need to have a certain picture placed as the background for my xcelsius files, but can't seem to figure out where to place the picture file and how to get Xcelsius to retrieve it so I can choose it as a background option. Any help??

Whenever I right click on the blank white canvas, all the options are greyed out, i can't choose properties. This plain white background is the "canvas" you are referring to, isn't it?

Yes. You want to left click on the canvas, not right click. (unless you've switched mouse buttons)

Right click should bring up the context menu.

Left click will select the canvas as the active object.

When the canvas is selected as the active object, its properties will fill the property sheet window, which should be on the right side of the interface.

Jennifer,

The image file can be located anywhere on a local machine or shared network resource.

To use the image file as the background...

+Click on the design Canvas

+In the properties window, choose Canvas Appearance > Type > Image

+Click Import

+Navigate to and select your image file
