BEx Authorization Problems
Hello forum.
I'm trying to give appropriate access to my users to see Queries/Workbooks on our BI environment. This authorization concept is pretty new to me but I think I got the concept ok. The security model that we'd like to put in place is pretty simple; access will be mainly driven by InfoArea.
Thus, a user have 2 roles assigned as the following (Profile detail view under the user):
T-Bxxxxxx <PRO> Profile for role ZSCM S_RS_COMP <OBJ> Business Explorer - Components T-Bxxxyyy <AUT> Business Explorer - Components ACTVT <FLD> Activity 03 16 22 RSINFOAREA <FLD> InfoArea ZSCM RSINFOCUBE <FLD> InfoCube * RSCOMPID <FLD> Name (ID) of a reporting component * RSZCOMPTP <FLD> Type of a reporting component CKF QVW REP RKF SOB STR VAR S_USER_AGR <OBJ> Authorizations: Role Check T-Bxxxyyy <AUT> Authorizations: Role Check ACTVT <FLD> Activity 03 ACT_GROUP <FLD> Role Name ZSCM
In addition to that, I also have a "Generic" role that includes standard stuff such as
S_BDC_MONI - Batch Input Authorizations
S_OC_SEND - Authorization Object for Sending
S_RFC - Authorization Check for RFC Access
S_SCD0 - Change documents
S_SCRP_FRM - SAPscript: Layout set
S_SCRP_STY - SAPscript: Style
S_SCRP_TXT - SAPscript: Standard text
S_SPO_DEV - Spool: Device authorizations
S_TABU_DIS - Table Maintenance (via standard tools such as SM30)
S_TCODE - Transaction Code Check at Transaction Start
S_WF_PRCTP - Workflow: Authorizations for Process Types
Now, here's the problem, when opening Analyzer under a username that have these two roles attached to his profile, I can't see any Query or Workbooks. I thought my role definition was ok but apparently there's something missing somewhere.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks & best regards

Hi,
Just open the BEx Analyzer (I'm referring to the BW 3.x version), and after you click over a query (don't open it just select it there), you'll see the third button from the left called "Enter in Role"
There you go,
Diogo.
