pur.org to muti-company code

Dear all

Can we assign one purchase org. to multi-company codes?

(i am aware that by assigning pur.org to plants of other company codes, we can assign pur.org to those company codes also. But in enterprise structure, we can assign pur.org to one co.code only. but many plants (other company plants) also can assigned in Assign pur.org to plants.)

What will be the repercusions if we assign a single pur.org to multiple co. codes? Can any one elaborate this scenerio?

Yes, you can assign a POrg to several company codes indirectly.. This is Corporate wide purchasing. So you have Company specific Purchasing, Plant specific Purchasing and Corporate wide purchasing.

In company specific, you assign CC to the Porg,

In plant specific, you assign teh plant and the plant's CC to the Porg, in which case you can only procure for that plant

In corp wide Purchasing, you assign Different Plants to the Porg, you do not assign the CC directly to the Porg

Hi,

You cannot assign one purchase organization to multiple company codes, but you can assign and use one purchase organization to multiple plants belongs to different company codes.

This cross company purchase organization is useful for better negotiations at corporate level. You can get header level discounts (applicable on total PO Value) across multiple company codes. If you use cross company purchase organization, you cant enter company code at header level in the PO. The company code is derived from the plant at GR level.

Hi,

First of all you can not assign single Purchasing Organisation to multiple Company Codes directly in OX01

So you have to assign Plants of different Company Codes to this Purchasing Organisation only.
