NWDI iviews

Hi Experts,

We are using local WD projects (without NWDI) . The iview and pages are created in portal according to this .

Now we are moving all local projects to NWDI . What my question is do we need to create the iviews , pages again for same projects .

We have to determine any iView/Page changes that may be required when we move forward into Production. This would

include how we link to pages, etc from the quick links area.

Please

Hi Jain,

If they are projects better thing is to create new iView, pages for newly created DCs in long run. In NWDI, we can only use DCs. And local projects application URL is quite different to that of DC (namespace, package etc changes ) . But still if you want to use the old iViews you can use them by changing ExternalLink property to your newly created DC application's URL.

Any property changes that we do for iVierws or pages or any portal content we need to transport.

But I strictly suggest you that create new iViews for newly created DCs at least if not pages and add them to the old pages and then delete old iViews from the pages.

Regards,

Siva

Hi Jain,

As long as the name sapce is same and It should not be a problem for all the iViews and Pages you already created in portal.

If you change the naming convention of your DC's and the aplication name space also will changes and In this case defenetly you have to create new iViews for all your webdynpro applications.regarding the pages also same , if you decided to change the DC names then you have to reassign the newly created webdynpro views to these pages.

Thanks
