Material master - Hiding / making field mandatory

All SAP Gurus,

For perticular material types.

We want to hide certain fields and make certain fields mandatory.

From where these settings can be mad?

Hi,

Follow the steps to have for certain fields mandatory/Hide in Material Master

1.Just click the tab ,(Which is u want to be Required entry )and get the field name (By clicking F1 and then technical information)

2.Go to T.Code: OMSR and enter that field name and get Selection Group

3.1. Use t.Code: OMS2 and click your material type[ your perticular material type] and in next screen check Field reference ( you have assigned for material type as reference material type){{ ( example :;For ROH material type the Field reference is ROH)

3.2. Use T.code:OMS9,, Double Click your Field Reference and select field selection Group & select round box of Required Entry and save.

Note: For Hide the field select HIDE Check box

Hi,

First go to OMS2 and from here get the Field reference key for your material type

And then go to OMS9 and for this Field reference key make the field selection for the desired fields.

If you want to optinal then check Screen field on the basic of Industry sector or check OMS9

Hi Vivek,

We are in OMS9 and we have also found out the field, we have stock up here.

Because we want to hide the field only for certain material type.

And we are not finding the way from whr we can hide it only for certain material type.

Use Tcode OMS9 - to change the field settings.
