Saved Maps

hi All,

I want to use a Import MAP which is saved in another repository.Where can i see or get this saved map files ( xxx.map)?

Helpful answers will be rewarded.

Hi Vijay,

Import as well as syndication maps are reuseable components,you can ues them in ay repositoy if you are working on the same master and the similar fields

- To resues an import map you have to go to import manager using the source file->Open the saved map->file->export->the map get exported and it will ask you the location where you have to save it->say for example you want to save it on your desktop->the map get saved with the extension .map

- Now to resue this map in a another rep

- Opne the import manager with that rep details->use teh source file->file->Import->browse to the location where you have saved the file

- The map get imported in your new rep and now you can use it.

Hi Vikrant,

Go to the repository from where you want to export the map.Go to the File open options.You can see all the maps for the repository in the drop down list.

Save the required map on the desired path.It will automatically get save with .map extension.

Now open the repository wherein you want to import it.

Go to the Import Map operations.Select import map.Browse through the required path and select the exported map.

Hi Vijay,

For repository 1, Go to Import Manager->File and export the Map that you want to use for the other repository and save it on your desktop.

You will have the Map saved on your machine.

Then, For the other repository, open import manager and Go to File->IMport the Map that you have saved on your desktop.

This will surely help you.
