PP-PI: Component withdrawal in presence of scraps

Former Member

Hi everybody,

to make 1 kg of a product I need 1 kg of a component; but I have 10% assembly scrap (maintained in the product material master) and 2% operation scrap (maintained in the BOM, with net flag settled).

Then I create a Process Order with COR1 and I release it.

Then I confirm 100 kg with COR6N upon this order, and I find that the withdrawed quantity of the component (261 movement) is 92,727 kg.

Can anybody explain to me what calculation is made?

Hi,

And how much is the Order Qty?

Is it 100 Kg?

I think there may be human error is there.

To confirm it first cancel that Confirmation and again do the confirmation and check how much Qty comes for GI.

Hi Dhaval,

yes the order quantity is 100 kg.

I've tried again to do the confirmation, launching again COR6N, and again the quantity of the component is 92,727 kg.

I would expect 102 kg... I don't understand.

Hy G R,

Are you using Material Quanity Calculation(MQC).

Pls check it.

Hi Dhaval,

is it an option?

Where can I find it?

Hi G R,

That option is there in Master recipe and even in process order also.

Go to component screen of Process order. Here you will find one green Icon which represent the MQC.click , it will take you to the MQC screen and check is something is set over here.

or you can go to that page by ctrl + shift + F6.

Dhaval

Hi Dhaval,

I've gone where you said, and there I found that there is no formula: here the value of the component is 102 kg, and if I select this quantity, and then I click on the icon "Select formula", I find no formula.

Hy G R,

Will you send screen shot of below list to me

- BOM

- Component list (Process order)

- Material Quanity calculation

- Goods movement screen of COR6N

You can find my id in my Profile.

It will help to come close to root cause.

Hy GR,

There is nothing Problematic.its OK

First you have assign 2% Operation Scrap in BOM.

So for 100 kg of Header Material Qty of Component required is 102 kg.Correct.But Here you have do one more thing and that Assambly scrap of 10%.Due to this if you create Order of 100kg system concider 10% scrap and increase the Order Qty to 110 kg among this (10kg is assumed as Scrap).

Now come to the process order

- You have create order of 100kg , but due to 10% assambly scrap qty increase to 110 kg.But you have set 2 Operation scrap due to this system has incresed Component qty to 102 kg(Ignore Assambly scrap of 10% due to Operation scrap).

- Now Come to confirmaiton.

Here what I feel is you are doing the confirmation of that phase with Confirmed yield of 100kg (not 110 kg) without confirming the 10 Kg scrap. Here is the problem.

See the calculation

= 102 x 100 (Confirmed qty) / 110 (Order qty)

= 92.727 kg.

Just try to confirmed that phase with 100 kg yield and 10kg scrap.

System will saw 102 kg of component qty in goods movement screen

Hi Dhaval,

yes, I just did as you said: I didn't confirm any scrap, but only yield;

and now I've tried to execute COR6N confirming 100 kg yield + 10 kg scrap and the withdrawal of the component is 102 kg as you said...

Thank you very much!!

You've been very kind and helpful!

See you soon,
