Issue with transportation lane validity

Hello,

We are currently having a scenario wherein a HUB is sourcing from two locations. The validity of the transportation lanes is as follows:

Plant1 --> HUB: 1st Jan 2008 to 31st October 2008

Plant 2 --> HUB: 1st November 2008 to 31st December 2008

The transportation lead time from both the plants to the HUB is 2 days.

I have a forecast requirement on 1st November at the HUB. When I run SNP heuristics at the HUB, the system creates a receipt on 30th October with the sourcing location as Plant 2. The start and the end dates of the order are seen as 30th October 2008. The lead time is not respected in this case

Our expectation was that the system should show the start date as 30th October and the end date as 1st November 2008.

has anyone come across a similar scenario?

Regards,

Kedar

Hi Kedar,

Addressing the first issue, it appears as if there is a conflict in the plant calenders and for the second requirement, the system should respect the Lead time specified. I need the following clarifications:

1. What are the calenders maintained at the plant and in both the transportation Lanes.

2. How many TLanes exist for the Hub in question and what are the parameters maintained for them?

3. Do you maintain Product specific TLanes?

Manjit

Hi Kedar,

Backward scheduling is done for 1st Nov and system found Source of supply on 1 Nov 2008 as plant 2 , considering the lead-time you defined in TL as 2 days it has created order starting date as 30th Oct 2008 and end date as 1 Nov 2008.

In this case if you would have defined Shipping and receiving calendars in Location master than it would have considered those and move starting date as per Holidays you defined (Nov 1 is Saturday)

Receipt should be ready by 30th Oct; for this system has created planned order considering planned order lead-time.

Lead-time for planned order is sum of operation time in PPM + GR processing time in Product master.

Please check in PPM and Product master, sum should be less than or equal to one day.

Hope it will help you.

Kedar,

System respected the choice of transportation lane from Plant 2 to HUB since the requirement is on 1st November.

In order to offset the transportation lead time,heuristic generated the Distribution Demand at Plant 2 for 2 days back the requirement date that is on 30th October and would have generated the Distribution receipt at HUB on 1st November.

Also the Planned Order start date and End date at Plant 2 would be calcuated based on lead time mainatined in PPM.If that is lead time is 1 day,the start date and end date should be as 30th October should be fine.

please try manually creating an order in Interactive planning and check which plant the system is picking up and what are the start and end dates

Hello,

When I create a manual receipt in the system, the start and the end dates are correct.

it looks like the system is behaving correctly..its the heuristics that is not respecting the lead time..can u run the consstency check for both LC and Plng Area and check
