Hi Prabhakar, Both are used as tracing figures. The major difference is that Activity type has price on its own and its gets summed up at the time of allocation. The sum figures debited to the receiving cost object and credited to sending cost object. Activity type cannot stand alone. But it is not the case with SKF. SKF are only used as tracing factors and do not have price unlike activity type. Example In the case of activity allocation of Labour hours, the activity type of Labour with price shall be used. In the case of statistical figure, take the example of Canteen expenses and its allocation between the Cost objects on the basis of head count of each cost object. : Hope this answers to your query!

Hi

Activity Type describe the activity produced by a cost centre and are measured in units if time or quanitity. Ex: At a particular machine we will have labour time, power time etc. which are called activity types.

SKF : Statistical key figures may be used for distribution, assessment, or creation of other statistical key figures.

Ex. These SKFs are usally standard and will not normally change in the year and can be used as the basis for apportionment of cost to various cost centres etc.,

Cheers
