Hi Experts,

I just wanted to ask if webdynpro applications are supported (or not) on external facing portal,

If not which of the SAP web based applications are supported on external facing portal.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Deepak

Hi,

Here are some points

Its better to use light weight applications like jsps in EFP.

If you want to use webdynpro iviews, dont use the features like work protect mode and all.

one point i observed is dont use any webdynpro iview in home page.it will decrease the performance

For the complex applications (more interaction with SAP R/3 ) use webdynpro iviews.

thanks Naga,

from the above 'Blog', I got following talking about limitations

Not all content is supported to run in the light framework page.

Features that depend on EPCM -- such as the session termination and WorkProtect features -- do not work in the light framework page.

Therefore, content that depends on these features may not work, such as Knowledge Management (KM), Web Dynpro and SAP business packages.

but this is not clearly mentioned that,

if we have to develop some web based application for external portal, which technology environment in SAP should we go for.

> J2EE Development ( JSP Development)

> Portal Development (Enterprise Portal Perspective)

> Webdynpro development

still I am confused as to Webdynpro application will not run on external portal at all or there is some work around for the same.

please suggest.

Thanks

Hi,

Normall static contents are shown using light Portal framework, so webdynpro will have issues
