Hi,please help me to resovle this.
I have changed the description of the infoobjects. To reflect the same thing in the Reports I suppose to the re add all these changed infoobjects in communication structure ODS and cube ?(as the data is flows to cube via ODS) right?
Thanks,
Vasu
Hi,
you need not do that.
just make sure that if u want the exact the descritption in the query then you have to change the option in infoobjects( i think) in the properties in the query designer.
If you have already chosen that then it will automtically take the new descritption.
If it is used as navigational attribute then u have to maintain the navigation description.
Thats all!!
Thanks

allready there are some 60 infoobjects used in ODS and then in CUBE .But due to some requirments the end users are asking for the different description of those infoobjects .So I changed the LONG DESCRIPTION in the infoobject definition.and also changed to BEX as Long desription.(which will reflect in query).
Now to reflect these infoobjects in the query I have to re add these IO in communication strcutre ,ODS and also in CUBE.then in all of the reports what and all reports used these IO have to be changed with new IO(changed description) right?
well..if SAP will make these changes so difficult then .....
descritption is something which is bound to change and thats why SAP has given us the option to change it
If there was so much of work around for this then SAP will not allowed us to change it....and thats why we have techincal name to identify each and every charachter and this something SAp will not allow you to change.....you can change any description of any object at any time....just make aure that you do query level changes as well to make it reflect...which I have already told you.
