Hi,
I have created an maint. order but when releasing not able to release bcoz system giving a message
Error in commitment check(see costing log).
How to solve the issue?

Dear Sunil,
I don' think this is error. If feel that you can skip this by pressing enter two three times.
If not than than check cmmitment for your order type in customizing.

Its not obvious: TCode OIOA (maintenance order types) -> Open Item Management checkbox
Dear SUnil,
Controlling > Internal Orders >Define Order Types>New Entries
Enter your order category -30
Now put your order type. Here you will see a check box commitment management activate that.......T-code: KOT2_OPA
You can useT-Code KOAB also for existing order type.
Select your order type than press detail view button. Here you activate commitment management.

- What is the full error message (including message number)
- What did the costing log say

There is no error message it is coming in the form of information.

it is clearly saying check in error log ,in the order change mode from menu select Goto>log>release
