Hi,

when iam creating the material, it is asking the weight unit as mandatory.

For some materials When iam creating the basic data the weight unit is not mandatory.

On what basis the weight unit is made mandatory.

where we will maintain the weight unit as mandatory.

If you want to optinal then check Screen field on the basic of Industry sector or check OMS9

This Field Options Might have set based on Field Reference Keys. Go to OMS2 and Identify the Field Reference and Then Go to OMSR and Identify the Field Selection Group for Field Selection Key and in OMS9 Change it as Optional and save.

Dear,

You can see it with OMS9.

Enter t-code OMS9, Select your material type field selection.

Then click on detail button.

Here you can see number of field selection group for material views.

Double click on 18 & 19 number feild selection group.

Here you can see weight unit for material.

Then check it's status is required or not, If it is required so it is manadatory for material type and not manadatory so it is not manadatory for material type.

Hi,

Get the field name and go to OMS9 and check for the Field reference key assigned to your material type (OMS2), it would be mandatory. Make it optional.
