User not authorized to access repository. Why?

I hope somebody can give me hints of what i missed...

I receive the following message when i want to save the track which is documented under "Creating a Track"

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1a/524d401be96913e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm

DTR (URL http://<server>:50000/dtr) server exception: User "nwdi_admin" is not authorized to access repository "http://<server>:50000/dtr"

When i login into <server>/dtr and use nwdi_admin, i can access everything.

I could create the Domain. My SLD is on a different server.

I setup the user "nwdi_admin" with all ACL rights

(granted : read, right,..., AdminA,AdminX).

Any Ideas ?

Thanks,

Kai

Are you using fully qualified domain names? This sometimes helps...

Hi Pascal,

yes i do use FQDNs.

I figured out that the error comes from the domain i created. I had no CMS user (CMSadm) available at that time and used the Admin user (nwdi_admin). I got now the CMSadm user and changed the user and password and in the domain settings.

The error message shows now that the user CMSadm is "not authorized to access repository" .

Thanks,

Kai

Hey Kai,

I noticed something in the User Management.

There is a Role with JDI.Administrator

Also there is a Group with JDI.Administrator.

I think the user has to be assigned to both for the access rights to work.

Thank You.

Sumit.

I figured out that,

a) the user cms_user was changed to uppercase name in the devinf.

b) i had not the same password for the SLD and the JDI.

Thanks all,

Kai

Hi Kai,

we have a similar problem on an NWDI 04s, WebAS 70, the SLD is on a different server, and for security reasons we had to change the password of the CMSADM user.

We tried to update the password as described in note 896427 (enter <!-- user/password update --> into the XML-files), but when we tried to save the settings, CMS didn't allow to save the settings with message: user not authorized.

Now, when we try to save something in the tracks (even in the track we didn't touch before), we get the authorization error.

That looks very much like the problem you had, so would you please tell us how you solved yours?

Thanks and best regards

Cornelia
