make use of tcode MMNR for creating the no range
group and assign the material type to relevant group well regarding the alphanumaric thing there is standard no range avilable for that
but yes you can make the no range internally
for this go to tcode OMS2
then select the material type and then unmark the check box external w/o check

Yes, It is possible to have Different Number Ranges as you said. But, System will not Pick Alphanumeric number ranges Internally. You should enter Manually Else use Enhancements as suggested by Pankaj.

Hi,
First Create different groups for material types as these 3 as different number ranges.
Individually place these 3 material types in each of the groups and create the number ranges as you have already mentioned and then try to keep it internal number range.
Then try to create the material and see what happens. in case if the system is not allowing properly then make use of the user exixts already told by pankaj.
Thanks & Regards,
Kiran

Hi,
System will not bring alphanumeric no of materials automatically during MM01.
You have to use exit MGA00002 - Material Master (Industry): Number Assignment
Also there are following 2 Function Modules;
EXIT_SAPLMG02_001 - Customer Exit: Internal Material Number Assignment
EXIT_SAPLMG02_002 - Customer Exit: External Material Number Assignment
