Dear Experts,
For Operative Projects we can create Simulation Versions (CJV1 / CJV4) & Project Version (CN72).
We can compare different Project Versions with Operative Project (S_ALR_87013539 / 38).
Similarly can we compare Simulation version with Operative Project?
OR can we see plan cost report for simulation version?
Please guide.
Rajesh
Hi,
Simulation versions are not meant for comparison purpose. You can use Project versions for that, which are snapshots of project at that point of time.
Simulation versions can be used to analyse 'what-if' conditions and for quotation ie pre-order analysis. Before receipt of sales order, you can create simulation project and do cost planning for quotation purpose. After receipt of sales order, this project can be made operative. In case of loss of project, you can delete simulation.
Another case can be during execution you want to check "what happens if" kind of conditions. you can transfer operative project to simulation version, simulate reqd condition. If results are desirable, you can copy the simulation version onto current project or alternatively delete simulation.

Then if we want to see the various simulations at a time, then do we have to see it manually for various simulations?
What i understood from your reply is that -
When we create the quotation for our product to sell it to the customer, then the various quotations are created by simulating the project and then the best option is converted into operative project and then it is assgned to the sales order manually
or is it something else?
Thanks
Rajesh
What you understood is right. Basically purpose of doing this is we are not sure whether we will get that project or not. In this earlier steps there is no chance of having sales order so logically as u have interpreted after receipt of sales order we will convert simulation to operative and assign WBS in sales order.
In my opinion, we cant see multiple simulations simultenously.

Hi,
There is a correction.
I checked out, you can compare multiple simulation versions of same project within themselves or with operative project using standard reports like CNS41 (provided ur DB profile allows it. You can change the DB profile temporarily in CNS41 by clicking 'Change DB profile' button at top.) Tick the box 'Version data' under origin section. To change DB profile permanently, change thru customisation: OPTX
Further enter project and reqd version and execute.
Regards
Hi ,
Go to CNS41 in DB profile select the option Version Data the executed report will give the required compariosons. All the Q raised by u will get solved with the DB profile option selected.
